 Art Galleries and Studios The county has many art galleries and studios that show case talents in a wide variety of media

Cedarburg Bog located west of Saukville, is a 2,000-acre Mesozoic bog, the southern most of its kind in the state. Also located there is a University of Wisconsin Research Station.

Cedarburg General Store Museum. This newly restored building, circa 1860s, houses a collection of antique advertising art and packaging, displayed to recreate a typical general store. The Cedarburg Visitor’s Center is located in the museum.

Cedarburg Cultural Center features permanent and temporary exhibitions exploring the community’s history, heritage, and contemporary culture. A historic walking tour is also available.

Cedar Creek is home to a 5.5-mile canoe ride, which begins at Covered Bridge Park and ends at Boy Scout Park in downtown Cedarburg.

Cedar Creek Settlement. A former 1864 woolen mill on the National Register of Historic Places, now home to dozens of specialty shops, galleries, restaurants, and a winery.

Cedar Creek Winery located in the historic Cedar Creek Settlement, has daily tours and wine tasting.

County Fairgrounds located in Cedarburg and adjacent to Firemen's Park, host the annual County Fair.

Covered Bridge Park located north of Cedarburg, has the last remaining covered bridge in Wisconsin. Picnicking is also available.

Eghart House in downtown Port Washington, is a Victorian cottage restored and furnished to its original condition.

Electric Interurban Railway Depot  This historic landmark depot is the last remaining building of the Milwaukee to Sheboygan Interurban Transit System that served Ozaukee County from 1907-1948.  The fully restored cream city brick building located on Center Street in Cedarburg will soon serve as the expanded Ozaukee county Archives Research Center & Museum operated by the Ozaukee County Historical Society

Fireman’s Park in Cedarburg, is the site of the annual Ozaukee County Fair and Maxwell Street Days.

Freistadt is a small community settled back in 1839 by immigrants of Pomerania (later Germany). The Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, the oldest Lutheran church in Wisconsin, is also located there. Freistadt is now a part of Mequon.

Green Bay Ethnic Trail served as the principal transportation route between all the earliest settlements in eastern Wisconsin. Historic inns, stagecoach stops, bridges, fences, windows, churches and farmsteads are still visible along the route.

Harrington Beach State Park occupies 637 acres of land along the shore of Lake Michigan, just east of Belgium. The park offers picnicking, volleyball, hiking, nature study, fishing, a sandy beach, an inland quarry lake, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.

Historic Hamilton, an 1840’s community located along the Green Bay Ethnic Trail, is a state historical site and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Interurban Trail A 30 mile non-vehicular recreational trail which follows the old interurban rail line that ran from Downtown Milwaukee to Downtown Sheboygan.  The new Interurban Trail will run through Ozaukee County from the Milwaukee County-line to Sheboygan County-line, connecting existing trails through communities and countryside of Ozaukee County and across bridges that span Cedar Creek in City of Cedarburg and the Milwaukee River in the town of Grafton.  Pedestrians, bicyclist, roller-blades and cross country skiers are invited to use the trail. 

Kuhefuss House constructed in 1849, makes it one of the oldest homes in historic Cedarburg.

Lime Kiln Park is a beautiful park located along the Green Bay Ethnic Trail in Grafton, features restored lime kiln chimneys and a picturesque dam.

Lighthouse Museum built atop St. Mary’s Hill in Port Washington, is an historic coast guard station lighthouse that now houses the local historical society collection.

National Flag Day Foundation Americanism Center located inside the former Grand View School building in Waubeka, contains Flag Day memorabilia and other articles of patriotism.

Octagon Barns found throughout Ozaukee County are monuments of early German settlers who built these structures beginning in 1890.

Orchards, Produce Farms, and Roadside Stands are located throughout the county offering a variety of fruit and vegetables.

Ozaukee Art Center located in one of Wisconsin’s oldest breweries, features exhibitions and workshops in all media.

Ozaukee County Breweries the county offers two different local brewers

Paramount historical marker  Over 1600 recordings were made in Grafton, WI. Come and see the world-renown spot where the best of the Delta Blues artists recorded near the corner of 12th and Falls Road in Grafton along the beautiful Milwaukee River. See the foundations and rusted power wheel of the pressing plant that distributed the best of jazz, gospel, early country, dance band, blues, and ethnic music.

Pebble House. Built in 1848, this stone house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Port Washington Visitor’s Center is located in the house.

Pioneer Village located in northern Ozaukee County near Fredonia, is a living museum of 20 buildings from the 1840’s to 1907 era.

Port Washington Marina & Harbor is one of the most popular fishing and sailing ports on Lake Michigan.
